Making the "Tessas Treasure" logo
For this commission I worked closely with the client to get the logo exactly how she wanted it. Here are the images and changes I made until we reached the final product.
Lauren (me):
"I love that idea!
Are you thinking full color? Digital? And lastly what kinda pottery are you selling that you want me to include?"
Client:
"Yes, full color and digital. I really like those digital drawings you do. I do a lot of planters for my plans and mugs cuz mugs are fun"
Lauren (me):
"Ok great! I will get working on the sketch and we can finalize things from there."

"Here is the sketch let me know what you want to add or change. Also what colors are you wanting?"

Client:
"So I’m starting an Etsy/eBay/Instagram and I want to be named Tessas Treasure. So I was thinking like a cute, blonde pin-up mermaid with a treasure chest of pottery?"

Client:
"I love the sketch! And for colors, I was wanting blond hair and my favorite color is purple"
Lauren (me):
"Wonderful! Here is what I have so far anything you want to add or change?
(NOTE: Now I always sent clients the linework before I continue with color)
Client:
"So I love most of it. I’m not feeling the bubbles though. Also, her face seems harsher in this version. I’m not sure if it’s the eyeshadow but if u could make her face softer? In the sketch, you sent me I liked thinking of those circles and pots with plants coming out of them. Cuz I do like the idea of something being around the chest, just not the bubbles"
Lauren (me):
"Sounds great! I will work on those revisions and send you what I have."

"Here you go I added the potted plants and removed the eye makeup to give it a softer look. Anything you want to add or change from here?"
Client:
"I like her face much better! I feel like those plants make it look less underwater. Maybe make the pots look broken and the plants are flowy like like from a shipwreck? and maybe add some coins on the ground? Also, I forgot to say to add an apostrophe in Tessa’s"
To the right, you can see the final approved design. My client was very happy with the design and received a high-quality digital copy she could use as she pleased.
